LyriCoalition is a network of European opera professionals associations and unions formed in April 2020, which currently includes 7 countries : Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, Spain and Sweden.
Despite the differences in all of the countries, we discovered through our frequent discussions that we have many common ideals and objectives, but also obstacles that we wish to overcome. Between borders there are varying structures and labour codes and the very nature of our employment is multifaceted, which can result in misinterpretation and legal, social and financial disadvantage.
As an opera professional association network, we are committed to international solidarity and have already undertaken major projects.
Seeking to establish a strong and reliable communication channel, the most important European associations of Freelance Operatic Artists, are launching a network : LyriCoalition, The European Association of Independent Opera Professionals.
Our members believe in the urgent need for networking, exchange and solidarity ! This portal is intended to coordinate and support us among ourselves. By helping ourselves, we help others. For us, this means : Communicate, exchange, think ahead, inspire, inform, involve !
Working abroad can sometimes be a little daunting, which is where the LyriCoalition can come handy.
As a network of performing artist organisations across Europe, we are here to listen and support. So, don’t hesitate to get in touch with your host country’s organisation if you need advice, and you will always find an open ear.
You will find each organisation’s contact email address by following the link.
Should you need more specific assistance with a situation when working abroad, you may need to become a member of the organisation of your host country.
Good news - if you already are a member of one organisation belonging to the LyriCoalition network, the membership rate for another membership within our network is only 30 euros, and is valid 12 months from the day of registration !
